CULTURAL IJAW MEET ISHAN WEDDING OF IBY AND MARK

As much as we love weddings, there is this one type of wedding that can never be overlooked. This is the traditional marriage. Every lady is proud of her tribe and culture that traditional wedding events is usually a must-have. But it isn’t all about the wedding but a display of cultural and tribal heritage especially when it comes to inter-tribal marriages. This type of marriage is seen in Nigeria as a way of fostering unity and peace.

So it was an all round cultural inter-tribal wedding for Iby and Mark who brought together two unique tribes with their love and quest to stay together forever. Iby who is from the Dema Abbey Clan of Ijaw of the Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom joined in holy matrimony with Mark from Ishan tribe in the Benin Empire. Iby was fully dressed in their native Ijaw wear, an off shoulder shimmering blouse with two wrappers and coral beads accessories, followed by a wrapper and gold pellets. Marrying into the Ishan clan, the bride also dressed in the native Bini style. Her groom also dressed in styles exhibiting the two cultural tribes.

For their white wedding, lovely Iby was dressed in an off shoulder long sleeve ball gown with a full length embellished veil by Gia Brides while her groom, Mark went for an off white suit with black trousers. Photography was done by Forte Spy Photography.
