Fall 2016/17 Paris Couture Week: Valentino Goes Elizabethan As Co-Creative Director, Maria Grazia Bows Out

alentino’s presentation at the Paris Couture Week was a line-up of pieces largely inspired by the Elizabethan era.

There were bibs and high ruffled collars. There was velvet, the classic white shirt and tailored pants tucked into leather lug sole boots.Leather dresses, wispy dresses with sheer panels, structured coats and more all worn with the same leather boots.

It was dominantly black and white but of course there was the signature valentine red. Purple, gold and earth tones also made appearances.

It was a good show, made even more significant by the fact that it was going to be co-creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s last collection with the fashion house after about 2 decades with them.
