AFRICAN VIBRATION

AFRICAN VIBRATION

Vogue Japan goes wild in Kenya for their May 2016 fashion editorial "African Vibration" featuring Brazilian model Renata Zandonadi who was photographed by Erik Torstensson in the Maasai Mara community posing next to wildlife and their people, with styling by one of my favourite stylists Giovanna Battaglia (Fashion Editor,  Vogue Japan).

LOCATION

It seems Kenya is now the new destination for fashion shoots. Just last month, Rome based high fashion house, Valentino staged their Spring 2016 campaign at the Amboseli National Park. And now, Vogue Japan has joined the list of international campaigns done in Kenya. Are we complaining? No of course!

STYLING

BatGio styles Renata in stripes and ethnic prints,  from Missoni, Stella McCartney and chunky accessories from Kenya making the white model blend in perfectly with the Masai community. With a mix of contemporary pieces with Kenyan accessories, this works well

PHOTOGRAPHY

Erik brings Maasai to life capturing not only the model but the Maasai people in a very stunning way and showcasing their plain scenery, unmatched safari activities and its diverse wildlife.

 OVERALL

The overall interpretation of "African Vibration" captured in a beautiful background with the model in ethnic prints and complimented by the Massai men and women, is everything and much more.
