#LFW2016 – IT WAS A FRUITY AFFAIR AT CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA’S SPRING SUMMER 2017 PRESENTATION!

London Fashion Week is in full swing and no presentation has excited or captivated me as much as Charlotte Olympia’s Caribbean 40’s style interpretation.

Speaking about the show which held at the Art Deco Ballroom of London’s Sheraton Grand Park Lane Hotel, creative designer Charlotte Dellal  shared this few words on the presentation.

“I wanted it to be fun, I wanted it to be a performance and I wanted people to feel like they’d stepped back in time for a moment.”

She just about achieved her aim as models cat walked  in breezy linen dresses and gold swimsuit for others all set in nude and creamy hues.

Even the shoes and accessories took on the South American vibe. There were plastic fruit engraved on wooden wedges, mule slippes with leafy designs, and fruit shaped bags, beaded necklaces and elaborate straw hats.

Perhaps, the most captivating of the presentation would be when models strutted in gigantic fruit costumes. We saw banana, pineapple, watemelon and even grape beauties. To end it all each model dances to large sized bananas.

Was there a hidden meaning to this? Only Charlotte can tell!
