THE YORUBA TRADITIONAL ENGAGEMENT OF DOYIN AND NIYI

THE YORUBA TRADITIONAL ENGAGEMENT OF DOYIN AND NIYI

Traditional marriage is an important culture among the Yorubas. The Yoruba traditional marriage ceremony is usually an event full of playful banter, rich contemporary Nigerian music, graceful colours and sumptuous meals. It is usually divided into two; the introduction and engagement. Weddings in Yoruba land is an occasion to show your best outfits, handbags, jewelry and even dancing styles.

It was a fun filled planned event that announced to the world the union of Doyin and Niyi. Doyin was an epitome of beauty with make-up by Eeswat makeovers as she said her traditional wedding vows in three traditional attires; an embellished purple aso oke, a yellow matching lace with silver head gear like her aso-ebi girls and a coral beads embellished lace with matching headgear, all from Aduke Alaso and Vogue Aso oke with accessories from Lush Jewels.

Doyin and Niyi’s beautiful traditional engagement wedding was planned by Lady Bug Events with decorations by Vania Event Solutions. Photography was done by Tap Studio and Laphy photography
