Shamari and Ronnie DeVoe Encourage Couples To Stay United During the Annual 'Married 4 Life Walk' In Atlanta

CAN COUPLES WALK TOGETHER IF THEY DON'T AGREE ON THE DESTINATION? THE DEVOES BRING AWARENESS TO THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY IN RELATIONSHIPS.

Musicians and Real Housewives Of Atlanta stars Ronnie and Shamari DeVoe are doing their part to help other couples stand the test of time. Over the weekend, they hosted their third annual Married 4 Life Walk, founded by authors/marriage counselors Martez and Woodrina Layton.

The event goes down every year in Atlanta and was created to “help couples of different religious denominations, ethnicities, and backgrounds to build stronger marital relationships.” The goal of the two-mile walk is for couples to embrace and apply this principle of “walking in unity” while networking and learning from other like-minded couples.

The DeVoes have famously opened up about the highs and lows of their marriage, punctuated by their choice to briefly have an open relationship. Though the decision didn’t work out for them, Shamari says they were able to repair their marriage and come out on the other side with lessons to share with others. “We are in the business of helping heal families, and saving marriages, and just bringing other like-minded couples together and encourag[ing] one another,” Shamari told ESSENCE exclusively on the Yes, Girl! podcast.

“There’s so many challenges you go through in a relationship — no relationship is perfect — so you need to have a group that cares, that wants to be that positive light, to help you get your fire back and reignite the flame,” she continued.
