Henri Uduku Makes The Most Of Adire In Its 2019 Resort Collection

After the successful release of its spring/summer capsule earlier this year, Lagos-based label Henri Uduku has returned this season to show off the continuous use of African Tie Dye fabrics (Adire) as part of its 2019 Resort collection.

The new releases tagged “Ja Ara E” see an overarching theme of mustard and different shades of brown across the tunics and pants. The collection focuses on the marbling technique while detailing sees Fulani inspired paper embroidery as accents.

The collection is inspired by one of the designer’s childhood memories about a “hideous” Kaftan his parents had made by a local tailor for Christmas. It came in an uninspiring brown Adire print that he very much disliked.
