Music Icons, Mariah Carey & Chaka Khan Cover Variety’s “Power Of Women” Issue

Variety Magazine has unveiled its 2019 ‘Power of Women’ issue to celebrate the ladies and their respective achievements in the entertainment industry and beyond just less than two weeks after announcing its 2019 honorees.

Honouring music greats, Mariah Carey and Chaka Khan amongst other Hollywood stars like Jennifer Aniston, Awkwafina, Brie Larson and Dana Walden, the magazine tapped Peggy Sirota to lens the issue’s feature shoot.

Mariah spoke to Variety about her career, feminism, writing her upcoming memoirs and why she’s hopeful about the future of the music business.

While Chaka opens up about working with philanthropy Little Kids Rock, starting the Chaka Khan Foundation in 1999 to raise awareness about autism in communities of colour, and her friendship with Joni Mitchell.
