There Is More To African Fashion Than Wax Prints; See A Few Styles In Here

West African fashion has mainly dominated the concept of African fashion in the west and characterized itself in the past few years as print fabrics with bold colors. However the real truth is West African fashion really extends to more than print fabrics.

In fact, although there is a good number of West Africans that wear print clothes especially in Benin, African fashion can not be characterized so much by a particular fabric, nor garment, nor piece, it is a style that one must live in Africa to be able to distinguish what is West African fashion from the standard fashion. Yes print plays a role in it, but to the trained fashion eye, African fashion can exist without the prints

We are very clear in East Africa most of the fashion has been characterized by the popular Masai culture, and in the South, the Zulu. But here are a handful of fashion styles that scream west African fashion for women based on culture, without print fabrics. There are also hundreds more cultures in each country that might not be as popular but bring forth fashion styles that can just as well define Africa on sight.
