DASHIKI STYLES, THE NEW SYMBOL OF AFRICA

DASHIKI STYLES, THE NEW SYMBOL OF AFRICA

As I was about to start this article, I went on to look up the meaning of Dashiki and to my surprise, it got a different meaning which I’m sure as ladies you’d be surprised too. It says Dashiki is a colourful formal or informal garment for men commonly found in West Africa that covers the top half region of the body. This got me wondering about the fact that it is defined as men’s wear. I strongly believe this had to do with the 90s as this trend is dated back far as the 80s.

Today, we have seen the revolution of dashiki and even better is the fact that it has become a unisex wear; for both male and female. Often times I’ve said we ladies can be stylish in whatever we decide to wear even if it’s for the male gender. Nobody wants to wear this trend and look like their grandparents, this obviously led to the rejuvenating and restyling of it. It is very interesting how we see people getting stylish with all their looks.

Everyday, we see new hot styles evolving in our generation, but if you haven’t noticed them, we’ve decided to bring them to your notice. Check out our creative dashiki looks…
